Broadband Networks and Services

Definition:

The promotion of the Broadband technology through dissemination activities by producing strategic and scientific sensitization material.

Objectives :

  • The main objective of the project is to promote Broadband through publicity actions by producing strategic and scientific sensitization material ,the organization of an open conference with wide participation andtargeting , the development and operation of a portal , monitoringactionsthat promotes broadband services and infrastructures in the country.
  • There will be demonstrations of the use of broadband services in various places ( by utilizing Grnet backbone network ) regarding the usage of relevantservices to corporations and to the public. Moreover through the Grnet2demonstration actions : benefits from Broadband for the academic – research community.
  • Study of the regulatory issues and elaboration of proposals regarding IRU contracts resulting also to the production of standard contracts .
  • Monitoring and analysis of the results of actions at the Broadband infrastructure ( Study of Key Performance Indicators of the projects , extensive study of Demand andsupply)

The project is part of the overall Information Society project (4.2 Infosoc – invitation 84)
