The instigation of the creation of national grid infrastructures (NGI) in the countries of the Mediterranean.

Objectives :

The provision of guidance and technical counsels for the unification of the local infrastructures aiming at the creation of a unified grid infrastructure in the region of the Mediterranean. The support of the operation of pilot grid infrastructures in all the countries of the region. The adaptation and implementation of the operational and organizational techniques of the existing grid infrastructures so that the infrastructure of the region rises to the level of production. The exploitation and development od the network infrastructures are provided by GEANT and EUMEDCONNECT.
